Unlike common silicone-based materials, moulded parts of our SILICONE products demonstrate a high degree of stiffness. Consequently, they are characterised by extraordinary resistance to very high temperatures while retaining electrical insulation properties. They are inherently flame-retardant, which makes a UL94 V-0 classification possible up to a minimum thickness of 0.6 mm without additional flame retardants. As a result, their structural integrity and their excellent electrical properties are also retained under fire conditions.
Silicone resin moulding compounds are ideally suited for applications that require high safety reserves with regard to electrical insulation and structural integrity in the event of fire. For this reason, they are especially well-suited for the manufacture of components (electrical connectors) in aerospace and military applications.
